At Orwak Easi UK Ltd, we believe that every recycling challenge deserves a practical solution. When Falcon Cleaning & Support Services approached us with a unique concept for managing waste at events, we immediately recognised its potential to transform the way recycling is handled across the events industry.
The Challenge
Large events generate significant volumes of recyclable waste, but traditionally this material is transported elsewhere for processing. This creates additional handling, unnecessary vehicle movements, increased costs, and a larger carbon footprint.
Falcon Cleaning & Support Services wanted to challenge this conventional approach.
Owner Stuart had a simple but innovative idea: instead of moving loose recyclable waste away from the venue, why not take the recycling equipment directly to the event and process the material on-site?
The vision was to enable recyclable materials to be segregated, compacted and baled at source, creating a more efficient and sustainable waste management process.
Finding the Right Partner
Stuart initially approached several baler suppliers, only to be told that the concept would not work.
When he came to Orwak, our approach was different.
Rather than dismissing the idea, we worked to understand the operational requirements and explore how our equipment could support the project. Innovation has always been a key part of the Orwak philosophy, and we were excited to help turn Stuart’s vision into reality.
The Solution
Together, Falcon Cleaning & Support Services and Orwak Easi UK developed a prototype mobile recycling solution designed specifically for the events sector.
The system was recently trialled at the Formula 1 event at Silverstone, where the trailer was equipped with:
- 2 x Orwak Compact 3110 balers
- 1 x Orwak Compact 3115 baler
The live event environment provided the perfect opportunity to test the concept in real-world conditions.
The Results
The Silverstone trial demonstrated the benefits of processing recyclable materials directly at the venue:
- Reduced movement of loose waste
- Improved housekeeping and site cleanliness
- More efficient waste segregation
- Increased recycling engagement among event staff and visitors
- Potential reductions in transport-related carbon emissions
- Production of compact, transport-ready bales at source
The trial also allowed the team to identify further improvements and enhancements for the mobile trailer solution, creating exciting opportunities for future development.

It represents a new approach to event waste management, one that encourages responsibility at the point where waste is generated.
